Busted Out

I'm home now - was busted out at about 4 pm today as there isn't anything more we can do besides stay on antibiotics for the remainder of the pregnancy, take it easier, (am on "light duties" now), hope I don't go into labor, and try to sleep. Oh, and take copious amounts of pills as not only do I need to fight infection, but I'm anemic now, too. Good times, my friends, good times.

More from me later, for now I'm absolutely exhausted and am going to bed.

This was me on Tuesday, looking like...well...[insert description of something bad here].

Before they gave me good drugs

1 You know, for a woman with a raging kidney infection, two overactive babies in her ute, and anemia, I think you look pretty damn good.

3 I'm glad you're home. Nothing but good thoughts going your way, H.

4 Thank goodness. Take them seriously about the "light duty" - I think in the U.S. you'd be on bedrest by now!

5 Shit, you look better there then I look on any given infection-free, non-pregnant-with-twins day. Keep your ass in bed as much as possible-I mean it! Glad your home!

6 Oh dear you look like you feel horribly! The pain on your face hurts me. Your figure looks amazing though, is that okay to say? Pregnnacy is giving you the roughest of times but you wear it well. Hang in there sweetie- I hope you get the rest you need.

7 Does this mean you won't be mowing the grass today? (Or ever again!?) I know it sounds odd, but you do look beautiful in the photo. Hang in there.

8 *hug* I hope that things go smoothly for you after this. You've dealt with so much so far.

9 Would it be inappropriate to say "Oh at least you had pretty toenails"? Really glad you're home, get lots of rest and keep your legs crossed

10 Wow, what Teresa said!! Hang in there, the end is near, H. Hugs to you, your boy/nurse, and the Lemonheads!

11 So glad to hear you're home! You sure are the prettiest pregnant pincushion I've ever seen, but you do look pretty sad in this shot. Hang in there, all of you.

13 Hugs to you and Angus, give the lemon heads a rub for me. Sounds like we need to be sending you funny books and movies to try and keep you in bed :-)

14 Hang in there - I have no good advice, but wanted to let you know I feel for you. May you find a comfortable postion, pee when you need to, eat good meals without repercussions, and sleep! (the new irish proverb?) Suze

15 Awww... you look like a pregnant lady who is ready to go HOME. Glad you got to go... take it easy. If I was closer I'd come do something nice for ya! As it is... all I can do is send good thoughts your way.

16 I think that pregnant women look beautiful; today isn't any different. You do look like you're suffering though, and I'm sorry about that. I'm glad that you're home again. Take care.

21 I've posted very rarely but read every day. You certainly got more then your fair share of troubles during this pregnancy and you've managed to overcome it all and keep those babies safe. The end is near and I have a feeling you are going to be one of those ladies that look like they never gave birth a few weeks later - the kind I want to slap. I'm wishing the next few weeks pass quickly and easier for you. Good Luck, Kelly in Canada

22 Just think, for all the people who keep telling you how tired you will be, and how you will never get any sleep yada yada yada? NOTHING could be worse than not being able to pee. Once you make it through this to actually having the babies home, in making a home for them, you are making a life for yourself. And you can make it be what YOU want it to be. Why? Because you are the mommy and you say so that's why. Hang in there, and keep a close eye on your IV's, if they get puffy above them, tell the nurse immediately! Insist that they look at it often. It's ridiculous that they let that happen. (It's what I do as a side job.) Don't know if you will want to try this but build up two sets of pillows, put your tummy in between them and lay face down for awhile if you can, it might get the baby off your ureter, support your legs on one set, body on the other, baby in hole in middle. Also, if you can find one, get a pregnancy massage, I used to send my daughter for them, and she LOVED them, and felt so much better.

24 I just want to say that my heart goes out to you on your last post. Helen, I really feel for you, and you have every right to feel the feelings that your feeling and no one has any right to tell you otherwise. This YOUR blog and you have every right vent how you want to without being judged. Your pregnant not with one but 2 babies with double hormones pumping through your body. And not to mention the hell you have been through medically and emotionally. I am newly pregnant myself and already feel bad that I don't feel attached to my baby as it so new me that I can't feel it right now. I have seen it on an early ultrasound and seen its heart beating yet I do not feel attached to it. Does this make me a mother to be? I feel hormonal, irrational and fat and I am only 8 weeks! I canÂ’t imagine how I will feel/act as more time progresses. So you have every right to feel what your feel and to a greater extent. Just concentrate on keeping those babies in as long as possible and I hope you feel better soon. M

25 I know you didn't want comments on the last post but what you are feeling is normal. I realize it doesn't feel like it but right now you are pretty mucha hormone soup. My mom always told me that pregnant women were just one hormone away from total insanity so hold on with both hands and keep believing that it will get better.

26 You still look lovely even at a crappy moment. I only hope to look 1/2 as great when it's my turn. Your babies are lucky to have you as a Mom and to be wanted so much- not alot of kids have that.
